I've been liking the cooler weather. Not so much that it's always damp. My clothes. The curtains. The atmosphere, but the cooler nights afford me a more peaceful sleep.
Here are just some of the things that have happened these past few weeks.
Happy Holidays! Hope you had a satisfying Christmas. Whether it was boisterous or a quiet affair or you prefer to skip over the occasion for reasons, it's all good. As long as you're happy. For me personally, it was the same as last year. Kids running around. The teens grouping in one corner. The parentals catching up/cooking/watching. Me and my sister - on the sofas. We did the get-together a couple of days earlier, so by Christmas eve I was pretty much over it.
And the brooding/anxiety/pity party in my head starts anew.
Let's take in the fact that it's a few more days 'til the new year. Days. DAYS. That fact is eating my brains out because life + career + expectations + reality isn't all what I had in mind by this time of the year. Sigh.

Inside Out. Oh my God did anyone else get teary-eyed (or made silent waterfalls?) because I was trying so hard not to let my tears fall. Damn good movie. The morose parts for me definitely went over my younger siblings' heads. I can't wait for them to watch this again when they're significantly older. (I think it's an eldest child syndrome. Or just an older sibling thing.)

Justin Beiber's Purpose and Selena Gomez' Revival.
Yeah I know. But they both have been making some pretty stellar tunes lately.
Purpose has a more house/techo "dance" type of beat to most of the songs and is definitely a more personal and introspective album. The lyrics are deep and mature.
Revival is a bit more varied when it comes to the sound, but Selena's voice is showcased in all her songs. They finally figured out that her voice works well with sultry and not too complicated when it comes to notes. Also has some pretty personal lyrics and great dance beats.

What's eating me is this very fascinating and entertaining 'eating show/eating broadcast/eating chat room.
"The Diva" one of the most popular meokbang stars in S. Korea.
Mukbang/Meokbang - is where people eat in front of their webcam and broadcast it across the Internet for others to watch. If the viewers like what they see, they allocate “star balloons”, which gets converted into money. People can earn several hundred dollars each time they broadcast themselves eating. The word mukbang is derived from the Korean word for eating (muk-ja) and broadcasting (bang-song). - via expansesocial
I'm not sure where it originated but it was popularized in S. Korea during the 2000s. It's essentially a web show where you watch someone eat and you pay them for how much they "entertain" you. Read: They get paid to eat. Where do I sign up?
Usually large quantities of food are involved but not always and not in every broadcaster. I believe what draws people in apart from watching someone eat are the sounds they make and how they eat it. It's not for everyone to be honest. Some people might even be turned-off by the excessively loud slurping noises and crunches these "BJs" make.
But man am I hooked.
I've watched a couple of more famous eating broadcasters and while they are fascinating, no one has held my interest for long, even if they did order 3 boxes of chicken with sides of fries, a box of pizza and a pack of canned coke.
Except this particular guy.
The way he eats is so inviting (sometimes shocking) and he always interacts with his viewers when he can (ex. when his mouth isn't full noodles+beef+lettuce+soup). And yes okay, he's cute.
This entertaining (and a tiny bit perverse) type of show doesn't always show just one person eating. It can be a group of friends or family. Or it can show someone cooking then eating what they cooked. Basically Mukbang would be a show where someone is eating period.

PS. The Mukbang phenomena was popularized at Afreeca.tv - a social platform similar to YouTube. It's a paid service wherein you anyone can buy virtual money to give to the broadcasters and be broadcasters themselves.
If you've been slowly but surely bombarded with random Christmas songs at the store, at the mall or radio then you know Christmas is upon us. It's not as worse as November wherein after the first week every single day, wherever you go there will be a yuletide jingle playing. *Let's get through October - and its holidays- first shall we?*
That's when you realize that a year has gone by and think what the hell I'm still here? But I am glad I've been consistent with my posts. My subconscious probably decided it was finally time to review the rest of my shit that's just sitting here.

How people can be so close-minded as to hate the word feminism. There are some extremists who take it too far (that's why they're called extremists) but isn't that much more reason to rally and support the cause more so people know what real feminists (people who support the social, political and economic equality of ALL -yes LGBT too- sexes) look like?

That people stop hating the word Feminism and using the term "Feminazis" to describe women who whole-heartedly present personal, deep and passionate encounters and thoughts they have on the matter. Discounting the whole movement because of extremists (which a lot of political, economic and social groups have) is not only unjust but perpetuates the thought that we don't need equality and all feminists are spouting nonsense, non-issues and just want to burn their bras all day and kill men. You know just because.
